This fast-paced, half-day workshop is designed to immediately increase understanding and skills in high performance communication. The workshop is filled with exercises, diagnostics, and discussions that help participants to develop an understanding of the purpose and process of communication, the barriers to communication, and the principles of sending and receiving messages.

Special attention is given to the needs of a team or natural work group environment: participants will evaluate their team or work group’s communication using a specially designed diagnostic tool and develop an action plan for increased communication effectiveness.

Objectives
In this workshop participants will:

• Identify the objectives of communication

• Understand the process of communicating

• Learn to ‘send’ messages clearly and effectively

• Improve listening and clarifying skills

• Develop an understanding of the barriers to good communication and the costs, personal and organizational, of poor communication

• Utilize a team communication inventory to evaluate their team’s skill in communicating and develop an action plan for improvement
